Cost is the base 1-star shop price. Stars show a squad’s rank, separate from its cost tier. Three matching squads of the same rank combine into the next rank, up to 3 stars.

Traits reward variety. Different nearby squad types count toward local formation bonuses, including allied commanders’ troops. Repeated copies do not add extra trait counts.

Targets depend on the attack. A squad that can hit air may still have a ground-only ability. Open its details for the full targeting rules and rank stats.
